I actually know most of the Duke residents who matched into heme/onc over the last few years, and they pretty much all got interviews at Dana Farber, MSKCC, MD Anderson, etc. etc. if they applied there. Financially, heme onc probably makes 1.5-2x more than Hospitalist. Money is not too important to me and I feel like I would be very happy already with a $250k+ Hospitalist salary working half of the year.
